BLAKE O'NEAL
Musician. Guitarist. Singer. Composer
About me
Blake O'Neal is a jazz guitarist born and raised in San Antonio. At the young of 6, he found himself singing on stage with the Nashville Sounds, a family country band that traces back to his dad's childhood. At the age of 10 when he picked up a guitar, finding inspiration from folk, pop, and one artist in particular, John Mayer. As the years passed, Blake's musical horizons expanded, and he became drawn to all genres like R&B/soul, jazz, hip-hop, fusion, funk, and metal. What started as a self-taught pastime was now a passion he sought to formally study. Blake auditioned and successfully was admitted into the Texas State University Jazz program where he studied under the tutelage of Dr. Brian Pardo—a member of the Stan Getz band and a pupil of the respected Jazz guitarist Pat Martino. Today, Blake is an accomplished graduate of Texas State who is actively performing throughout central Texas and is nurturing other guitarists through his teachings.
